ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Bowling Green Falcons tennis team opened the 2022 MAC season with a 4-3 victory over Northern Illinois. The Falcons started the day by winning the doubles point, seeing wins from the pairings of Ioanna Tsadari/Laura Maia Silveira and Maru Poppe/Annika Vetter. BGSU saw wins in singles spots 1, 2, and 6. Tsadari and Selina Karg earned the wins in the first two spots, with Hannah Neuman adding a victory at No. 6. With the victory, Bowling Green improves to 4-8 overall and 1-0 in the MAC.

Neuman was the first one off the singles courts, picking up her second singles win of the spring. Karg's singles win pushes her spring record to 8-4, with Tsadari's triumph improving her record to 5-7. Karg's win was her 30^th career singles victory, Vetter and Poppe have a doubles record of 2-3 this season, while Tsadari and Silveira are 2-4 this spring.

Bowling Green continues MAC play next weekend with one home and one away match. The Falcons travel to Oxford on Friday, March 25, for a 1 p.m. match against Miami (OH). After a day off, BGSU returns home for a 1 p.m. match against Eastern Michigan. The Falcons and Eagles will meet at the Perrysburg Tennis Center on Sunday, March 27.
