Falcons Continue MAC Play With Two Weekend Matches

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University tennis team continues MAC competition with two weekend matches, one on the road and one at home. The Falcons travel to Hamilton on Friday, March 25, for a 1 p.m. match against Miami (OH). They'll have a day off before returning to the Perrysburg Tennis Center for a 1 p.m. match against Eastern Michigan on Sunday, March 27. BGSU is 4-8 overall and 1-0 in the MAC this season.

Last Time Out
The Falcons split their matches last weekend, falling to Oakland at home before earning a conference-opening win at Northern Illinois. Selina Karg won both of her singles matches and was named MAC Singles Player of the Week, the first conference honor of her career. Ioanna Tsadari also won two singles matches, as well as a crucial doubles match against NIU.

Opponent Outlook: Miami (OH)
Miami (OH) enters the weekend with a 7-8 overall record and 1-0 mark in the MAC. Last weekend, the RedHawks defeated Buffalo, 5-2, in the conference opener. Miami swept the doubles matches to begin the day, then took four of the six singles matches. The Falcons and RedHawks met in the fall at the Pam Whitehead Invitational in Cincinnati. BGSU won two of the three doubles matches, with the singles matches split evenly at three apiece.

The Eastern Michigan Eagles have a 9-10 record this season, dropping their lone MAC match to Toledo. EMU and BGSU have three common non-conference opponents: Cleveland State, Michigan State, and Oakland. The Eagles lost all three of their matches, with the Falcons' lone win coming against CSU. Eastern Michigan also opens the weekend with a Friday MAC match on the road, traveling to Kalamazoo for a showdown with Western Michigan.
