Falcons Conclude Home Schedule

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University swimming and diving teams competed at their own events today. The divers continued competition in the Buffalo Diving Invite as the swimmers took on Akron at home. The swimmers fell to Akron 178-84.
The Falcons had a little different format in today's meet against Akron. The Falcons swam four broken events and four events where the average time was taken from two swims of the same event.
The Falcons came away with two event wins in the 50 Butterfly and 50 Freestyle. Riley McNichols and Elayna Krupp swapped finishes in the two events. McNichols won the 50 Butterfly with a time of 26.10 and finished second in the 50 Free with a time of 24.39. Meanwhile Krupp won the 50 Free with a time of 24.21 and finished second in the 50 Fly with a time of 26.16.
The Falcons added two more second place finishes in the 50 Backstroke and the 100 Freestyle. Ava Vial finished second in the 100 Free with an average time of 55.52 and finished third in both the 100 Butterfly, with an average time of 1:00.48, and 400 IM, with a total time of 4:15.37. Freshman Falcon Emily McNicol added the final second—place finish in the 50 Backstroke. McNicol also placed fourth in the 100 Backstroke.
Meanwhile the divers were in Buffalo for their first solo Invitational of the season. In the first day of competition the Falcon's highest finisher was Julia Januszewska with a score of 221.15 in the 1-Meter Dive. Day two brought more success for the Falcons with two divers in the 3-Meter final. Rayah Blood led the Falcons with a fourth-place finish and a score of 291.85. Fellow Falcon diver Sarah Butt finished twelfth with a score of 245.85.

Freshman Diver Evie Long will be the lone Falcon competing tomorrow in the Buffalo Diving Invite on the tower.
