BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University swimming and diving team will be on the road this weekend against Oakland on Friday at 4 p.m.

The Falcons went about their last meet against Akron a little different from usual. The longer events were broken into various different smaller events. The 1000 Freestyle was a collection of the swimmers' times in the 400, 300, 200, and 100 Frees. Meanwhile, the 100 events were averaged between two swims for each athlete. Even with this unfamiliar format the Falcons found success in various events.
The Falcons swept the podium in both the 50 Freestyle and the 50 Butterfly. In the 50 Butterfly the Orange and Brown were led by Riley McNichols with a time of 26.10 who was closely followed by teammates Elayna Krupp and Fabiana D'Ambrogio with times of 26.16 and 26.50. Krupp was the top Falcon in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 24.21, in front of fellow Falcons Riley McNichols and Julianna Petrak with times of 24.39 and 25.03.
Junior Ava Vial also had a strong outing. Vial finished second in the 100 Freestyle with an average time of 55.52. Vial also added two third-place finishes in the 100 Butterfly, with an average time of 1:00.48, and the 400 IM with a total time of 4:15.37.
While the swimmers were at home the divers were in Buffalo for an invitational. Diver Rayah Blood was the top performer from Saturday's dives finishing fourth in the 3-Meter. Senior diver Julia Januszewska was the best Falcon in the 1-Meter with a score of 221.15. Then on Sunday freshman Evie Long was the lone Falcon to dive on the platform finishing eighth.
