Falcons, Bulls Set To Clash In Buffalo Tuesday Night

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's basketball program will stay on the road for the second consecutive game, this time heading to Buffalo, N.Y. to the face the Buffalo Bulls Tuesday (Jan. 17). The game between the Falcons and Bulls is set for a 7 p.m. tip and will be available to watch on ESPN+. Fans can tune in to the action via WFRO Eagle 99. Tuesday will mark the 47th meeting all-time between Bowling Green and Buffalo. The all-time series leans just slightly to Buffalo with the Bulls leading 24-22 after picking up both games last season. In the two meetings last year, Samari Curtis led the way for the Falcons. Against Buffalo, Curtis averaged 22.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game, including 25 points in the game in Buffalo.

A Bowling Green Win Would …

Bring the Falcons within one game in the all-time series against Buffalo with a record of 23-24 against the Bulls.
Get BGSU back to .500 on the season with a 9-9 record.
Push Bowling Green above .500 in MAC play at 3-2.

Scouting The Bulls
Buffalo is coming off an overtime loss to Central Michigan last Saturday that moved the Bulls to 2-2 within the MAC and 8-9 on the season, the same standing as Bowling Green. Buffalo picked up wins over Ohio and Northern Illinois to start MAC play but fell to Miami (OH) before CMU. Sophomore guard Curtis Jones leads UB, averaging 15.3 points per game, including a team-high 43 three-pointers this season.

Falcons Historic Shooting Streak
Bowling Green is currently on a streak of six consecutive games shooting 49% or higher from the field and have shot a season-best 58.3% twice over the stretch. Over the six games, BGSU has shot 193-of-360 (53.6%) from the field. The streak matches a stretch from the 2010-11 season when BGSU went 167-of-328 (50.9%) over six games with a high of 52.1%. The Falcons haven't had a streak of seven games or more with a 49% shooting mark in at least 22 seasons.

Assisting The Offense
The Falcons have logged at least 10 assists in 12 consecutive games this season and have recorded a minimum of 15 assists in 10 of those 12 games. BGSU has totaled 206 assists over the 12-game stretch, averaging 17.2 assists per game. As for the season, the Falcons have amassed a MAC-leading 259 assists and are averaging 15.2 assists per game, including a season-high 25 in the win over Ohio Dominican, one of three 20-assist games for BGSU.

Results In Rebounding
This season, Bowling Green has outrebounded their opponent seven times and hold a record of 7-0 in those games. However, when the rebounds are even or lean to the Falcons' opponent at the end of the game, BGSU is 1-8 this year. In wins this season, the Orange and Brown are averaging 40.6 rebounds per game, including 11.3 offensive rebounds. In losses, the team is averaging 33.9 rebounds per game with 9.6 offensive rebounds.

Staying Out In Front
In six of Bowling Green's eight wins this season, the Falcons have been leading with five minutes remaining. Similarly, BGSU has led with two minutes remaining in seven of the team's eight wins this year.
