Falcons Drop Exciting Exhibition to USNTDP

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green Falcons (14-13-1, 11-8-1 CCHA) fell to the USNTDP in a Friday (Jan. 27) exhibition by a score of 6-3. The Falcons saw power play goals from Ryan O'Hara and Taylor Schneider, with Seth Fyten adding an even strength tally in his first appearance of the season. BGSU trailed 3-0 late in the first but was able to tie it near the halfway point of the second. The U18s scored once in the second and twice in the third to regain and extend the lead. Salvatore Evola made 32 saves in 45:32 of action, then Pete Eigner had eight saves in 14:28 played.

Scoring Plays
The Falcons resume conference play with a home series against Ferris State. The Falcons and Bulldogs face off at 7:07 p.m. ET in Slater Family Ice Arena on Feb. 3-4.

Scoring Plays
- The U18s started the scoring with just under six minutes to play in the opening frame, with Ryan Leonard finding twine. Assists went to Oliver Moore and Austin Burnevik.
- 92 seconds later, Danny Nelson added to the total, with Drew Fortescue earning the lone assist.
- A few minutes after that, Ryan Fine scored to make it a 3-0 game. He was assisted by Salvatore Guzzo and Zeev Buium.
- In the waning seconds of the first period, Taylor Schneider scored a power play goal to put the Falcons on the board. Ethan Scardina had the assist.
- The Falcons scored again just 21 seconds into the middle stanza, with Seth Fyten knocking it in for the Orange and Brown. The assist went to Adam Pitters.
- Near the midpoint of the second, Ryan O'Hara tied it with a power play goal. He was assisted by Taylor Schneider and Zach Vinnell.
- Salvatore Guzzo poked in a loose puck for the USNTDP to give them the lead in the second, with Charlie Cerrato and Ryan Fine tallying assists.
- Late in the third, Gabe Perreault scored to extend the lead. He was set up by Aram Minnetian, who had the lone assist.
- Will Smith closed the scoring in the final seconds, with Perreault tallying the assist.
