
Falcons Finish Sixth at Magnus Cup

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University swimming and diving team finished competition at Cleveland State's Magnus Cup today. This was the Falcon's last meet of the 2023 calendar year. The Orange and Brown finished 6th out of 12 teams.
For a third straight day and sticking with the theme of the season Falcon diving had a strong outing. Junior Sarah Butt came away with a win on the platform with a score of 195.40. Freshman Falcon flyer Vicky Miller added a top ten finish taking sixth thanks to a score of 167.60 off the platform.
The Falcon swimmers had their best night of the week coming away with five top 5 finishes and four Falcons in the top 20 in the 200 Butterfly. The Falcons were led by Grace Bodrock in the 200 Butterfly. Bodrock came away with a fifth-place finish and a time of 2:02.67. Right on Bodrock's heels was Ava Vial with a time of 2:02.82.
The Falcons added three other top ten finishes tonight. Riley McNichols finished 8th in the 50 Butterfly with a time of 25.17. Morgan Sokol then took home 7th in the 200 Backstroke with a time of 2:01.26. Then, fellow backstroke swimmer Emily McNicol finished fifth in the 50 Backstroke with a time of 26.17. The Orange and Brown then came away with an eighth-place finish to end the Magnus Cup in the 400 Freestyle Relay.

"It was a very exciting weekend. We had a lot of season and lifetime best times. We are in a better position at this point in the season compared to last year. Our diving had an amazing three days. I am proud of the team's performances, but we still have a lot of work to do."
