Falcons Return to Competition for the First Time in 2024

HUNITINGTON, West Virginia – The Bowling Green State University swimming and diving team returned to competition for the first time of the new year against Marshall yesterday. The Falcons were bested 209-91.
A running theme of the 2023-24 season has been the great performance of the Falcon divers and the new year started out just the same. Freshman Flyer Natalia Mayorga took home another win in the 3-Meter bringing her season total event wins to six with four in the 3-Meter. Mayorga wasn't the only diver to have a strong outing. Captain Rayah Blood finished second and third respectively in the 3-Meter and 1-Meter diving.
The swimmers were led by backstroke swimmer Emily McNicol. McNicol took home a win in the 100 Backstroke with her fifth event win of the season. McNicol finished with a time of 56.83. Grace Bodrock continued her success in the 200 Butterfly. In the Falcons last meet Bodrock swam to the 9th fastest time in program history. This meet Bodrock left with a first-place finish thanks to a time of 2:05.92

The Falcon divers return to the boards at the Buffalo Diving Invite next weekend. They will reunite with the swimmers on January 19th at home against MAC counterpart Miami University.
