Overtime Ozar Captures Falcon Win Over Michigan Tech

HOUGHTON, Mich. - The Bowling Green Falcons (5-10-0, 3-4-0 CCHA) captured an exciting overtime win on Friday night, in John MacInnes Student Ice Arena against the Michigan Tech Huskies (6-7-3, 4-3-0 CCHA). The Falcons and Huskies went each went scoreless in the first period to then each one tallying a goal in the second (MTU) and third (BGSU) periods to end regulation 1-1. A back-and-forth battle in overtime lead to Owen Ozar calling the game at 1:04 into the fourth period, that captured the Falcons first overtime win of the season.

Scoring Plays
- Logan Pietila scored the lone goal for the Huskies at 9:04 in the second period. Pietila received the puck in front of the goal from Issac Gordon and placed it to the left of Moore to take the lead 1-0.
- Brandon Santa Juana tied the game up at 16:09 in the third period. Santa Juana found the puck at the point from Owen Ozar and took a shot that flew past the Huskies goaltender in the upper right-hand corner making the score 1-1.
- Owen Ozar took the puck down the sheet of ice himself, passing by a Huskie and getting a foot past another to have an opening for a shot. Ozar shot the puck to the right of goaltender to secure the 2-1 win at 1:04 into overtime for the Falcons. Â
- Brandon Santa Juana recorded his first collegiate goal and third point on the season (1g,2a).
- Owen Ozar scored his third collegiate goal and second in the Orange and Brown. Ozar also tallied an assist on the Santa Juana goal, being his first multi-point game of the season.
- Tommy Pasanen tallied two assists and third assist on the season, this marked Pasanens first multi-point of the season.
- The Falcons last overtime win was in January of the 2021-22 season, where they faced Bemidji State in Slater Family Ice Arena. Sam Craggs scored the overtime goal to secure the 3-2 win.
