Falcons Fall To Bemidji State In Game Two

BEMIDJI, Minnesota - The Bowling Green Falcons (7-13-0, 5-7-0 CCHA) dropped the second game of the series to the Bemidji State Beavers (8-10-0, 7-5-0) on Friday night in Sanford Arena. The Beavers found three power-play goals in the first period and one in the second and third to secure the 5-2 win. Owen Ozar scored one in the second period and Spencer Kersten scored one in the third period. The Falcons had 21 penalty minutes in the first period and 29 overall that held them back from full-strength goal opportunities. Between Moore and Evola there were 35 saves on the night. Â

Bowling Green Hockey will be back in action Saturday, December 30th when they host Windsor in an Exhibition in Slater Family Ice Arena. Tickets are still available, starting at $5 dollars and puck drop is set for 6:00 p.m.

 Falcon Facts
- Owen Ozar scored his fourth goal in the Orange and Brown and fifth career goal. While Spencer Kersten scored his sixth as a Falcon and 21st career goal.
- Brandon Santa Juana and Nick O'Hanisain both tallied an assist on the Ozar goal. Santa Juana tallied his sixth career point (1g, 5a) while O'Hanisain saw his first collegiate point.
- Brody Waters and Breck McKinley assisted on the Kersten goal. Waters saw his 13th career point (6g,7a) and McKinley tallied his fourth career assist.
- Between Cole Moore and Salvatore Evola, there were 35 saves on the night. Moore with 28 and Evola with seven. Evola found his first minutes this season in the net against Bemidji State, and now tallies 63 career saves.
- Lleyron Roed scored the first goal of the night off a power-play at 17:18 in the first period. Roed hit the puck in the left face-off circle, right by the dot and made it pass Moore to make the score 1-0.
- Vince Cororan scored at 13:56 in the first period. Cororan hit the puck at the point and it slid past the Falcons defense for a 2-0 score.
- Alexander Lundman scored the third goal for the Beavers in the first period at 3:50. Lundman found the puck on the doorstep and shot it past Moore for a 3-0 lead in the first.
- Owen Ozar took the puck down into beaver territory at 12:34 in the second period. Ozar skated the puck down the ice and the shot went off a Beaver skate and into the goal, Brandon Santa Juana and Nick O'Hanisain assisted in the Falcons first goal of the night.
- Kirklan Irey scored the fourth goal for the Beavers at 4:42 in the second period. Irey scored the first 5v5 Bemidji goal off a rebound on the doorstep.
- Adam Flammang scored the last Beaver goal at 8:14 in the third period. Flammang found the puck off a pass right in front of Evola and passed it by for a 5-1 score.
- Spencer Kersten scored the last goal of the night at 4:29 in the third period. Kersten deflected the puck off an attempted Falcon shot and found it past the Beavers goaltender, Brody Waters and Breck McKinley were awarded with the assist.
