A Bowling Green Win Would…
Scouting The Saints
Siena Heights comes in with a 5-5 record, picking up a 71-58 win over East-West in their last contest that ended a three-game skid. Other wins for the Saints have come against Ohio Christian, Adrian, University of Northwestern Ohio and Cleary with the Adrian, UNOH and Cleary wins coming in consecutive games. Delano Williams leads the way for the Saints, averaging 12.1 points per game. Brent Wiles (11.0) and Jonny Bowers (10.0) are in the double-digits as well while Wiles leads the team in field goal percentage and three-point percentage. Shawn Brown has been a strong contributor, leading the team in rebounds, assists and blocks. Jonas Tester has a similar story, leading the team in steals and minutes per game.Â
Five 20-Point ScorersÂ
With Trey Thomas and Rashaun Agee both hitting the 20-point mark against Hampton, BGSU has now had five different players log a 20-point game this season. In addition to Thomas and Agee, DaJion Humphrey and Jason Spurgin have both done so once while Marcus Hill leads the team with five 20-point games this season. The Falcons have now had two 20-point scorers in back-to-back games.Â
Four December Wins
The Falcons are currently 4-0 in December and one win away from wrapping up the month with an undefeated. A win against Siena Heights would put a bow on the record and mark the second time in the last three seasons BGSU has gone undefeated in December. The five wins in December would mark the most during the month for BGSU since winning seven in 2006-07. Also, a win would push the Falcons to 9-3 with a .750 winning percentage, the best mark at Christmas since the 2004-05 campaign when the team went 6-1 (.857).Â
Three Agee Doubles
Rashaun Agee has posted a double-double in three straight games for Bowling Green, becoming the first Falcon to have three or more consecutive double-doubles since Damajeo Wiggins had four-straight during the 2018-19 season. During the three-game stretch, Agee is averaging 16.0 points per game and 11.7 rebounds per game.Â
Two Key Stats
The Falcons have been one of the best teams defensively in the MAC so far this season, giving up just 65.7 points per game, second behind only Akron (64.5). Additionally, Bowling Green tops the MAC in defensive field goal percentage, holding their opponents to a mark of 40.1%. The next-best mark in the conference is Ohio at 41.4%. Â
And One Team Leading In ReboundsÂ
The Falcons currently sit atop the Mid-American Conference in the rebounding category, averaging 39.5 rebounds per game with the next team being Northern Illinois at 38.5 boards per contest. BGSU also leads the conference in defensive rebounds with 29.3 per game. Individually, BGSU is one of two teams in the MAC, joining Buffalo, with multiple players in the top 12 for rebounds per game. Rashaun Agee is currently fourth in the conference with a mark of 8.0 while Jason Spurgin is 12th with 5.7 rebounds per game.Â
