Falcons Travel to Dayton For Neutral-Site Showdown With Norse

Bowling Green to meet Northern Kentucky on Saturday for final match of February
DAYTON, Ohio – The Bowling Green Falcons (2-5, 0-0 MAC) continue non-conference competition with a neutral-site match against the Northern Kentucky Norse (4-2, 0-0 Horizon). The teams will play at 4:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Feb. 25, with the match being played at the Five Seasons Family Sports Club in Dayton, Ohio.

Last Time Out: Falcons Earn First Home Win of 2023 With 4-3 Victory Over Youngstown State
Bowling Green took a 4-3 home victory over Youngstown State on Friday, Feb. 17. The Falcons started the day with the doubles point, with the pairings of Ioanna Tsadari/Eloise Saraty and Hannah Neuman/Lucy Furness each notching a 6-2 win. Tsadari and Saraty have a 2-1 record this spring, with all three matches coming in the No. 1 spot. Neuman and Furness are now 5-2 this spring, including a perfect 4-0 when playing in the No. 2 spot. As a team, the Falcons have a 6-1 record in No. 2 doubles and an 11-10 overall doubles record this season. Tsadari and Saraty were named the MAC Doubles Team of the Week, their first recognition as a duo and the Falcons' second MAC honor of the season.

Neuman carried her momentum into singles play, making quick work of Jessica Stanmore in a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 4. This marked the junior's 10th total victory of the 2022-23 season and 40th total win of her career. Leticia Fonseca was also efficient in singles, winning 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 6 spot. Fonseca is 3-1 this season when playing in the No. 6 spot. Eloise Saraty overcame a 4-1 deficit in the second set to earn a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles, clinching the victory for the Orange and Brown. Saraty has a team-best 14 combined wins this year and has a 3-0 record when playing in No. 2 singles.

Northern Kentucky enters the weekend with a 4-2 record, with all six matches being non-conference. Only one of those matches has been at home, a 4-3 win over Eastern Kentucky on Saturday, Feb. 4. This was NKU's second win of the year over EKU, with the first being a season-opening triumph on Jan. 19 that also finished with a 4-3 score. The Norse have an 11-6 doubles record, but only the duo of Ashlee Fisk and Elizabeth Rozin have more than one win (3-2). In singles, Rozin is one of three players with three wins, joined by Ananya Kothakota and Sylvia Gray. NKU starts the weekend with a 5 p.m. home match against Western Kentucky on Friday, Feb. 24.

The Falcons play one match next weekend before beginning their spring break trip. On Friday, March 3, Bowling Green hosts Wayne State for a 1 p.m. match at the Perrysburg Tennis Center. From there, they head to Florida for a pair of non-conference matches. On Monday, March 6, they face Ave Maria, with the first serve time to be announced soon. The following morning (March 7), they travel to Lake Nona, Florida, for an 8 a.m. match with Providence.
