Orange And Brown Close Out Day Three at MAC Championships

OXFORD, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University swimming and diving team finished day three of MAC Championships today.
The Falcons had their strongest showing of the week so far today. The Falcons had three swimmers in finals and had two divers qualify the 3-Meter Dive finals. Ava Vial was the first Falcon to compete in finals today in the 400 IM. Vial improved by one place on her seed time swimming to a time of 4:24.77 and a thirteenth-place finish.
The 100 Breaststroke has been a strong point for the Falcons all season and it continued at MAC Championships. Freshman Falcon Maddie Gallagher was the highest finisher on the day with a time of 1:03.56 in the 100 Breaststroke and coming in twelfth. Senior Taylor Harris had another strong outing finishing fourteenth with a time of 1:03.89.
The divers came away with two finals qualifiers on the day. Elise Snyder secured a sixth-place finish in the 3-Meter Dive with a prelim score of 266.75 and advanced to tomorrow's championship final. Fellow Falcon diver Rayah Blood finished tenth in the prelims and qualified for the consolation final with a score of 259.30.

"Today was a tough day for competition. We got disqualified in another relay, but our swimmers that made finals did great. They improved their times and moved up from where they were seeded. Rayah (Blood) scoring in the consolation finals helped as well. We have one more day to be a little bit better."
