Zaresha Neal Named MAC Field Athlete of the Week

Senior thrower earns first outdoor award of season, fourth honor of 2022-23 campaign
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference has announced two student-athletes as its Women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week, with Bowling Green's Zaresha Neal earning MAC Field Athlete of the Week for the first time during the outdoor portion of the season. The senior won both of her events at the Blizzard Buster, tallying a shot put mark of 51-3.25 (15.63m) and discus mark of 164-11 (50.26m). Both marks rank first in the MAC, top four in the Great Lakes Region, and top 18 in the NCAA East Qualifying list.
MAC Field Athlete of the Week: Zaresha Neal, Senior, Bowling Green
Zaresha Neal opened the 2023 outdoor season with two event wins at Miami's Blizzard Buster, taking first place in the shot put and discus. Her shot put mark of 15.63m ranks first in the MAC, 19th in the NCAA, and 23rd in BGSU history. She holds 11 of the top 25 outdoor shot put marks in program history. Her discus mark of 50.26m is also first in the MAC, as well as 39th in the nation and 21st in school history. The senior holds 14 of the top 25 discus marks in BGSU history.
This is the first time Neal has been honored during the 2023 outdoor season and fourth time she has earned recognition during the 2023 season. In her career, she has six MAC Field Athlete of the Week honors, with two of them coming during the outdoor season.

Bowling Green splits to end March and begin April. On March 30-April 1, a group will head to Austin to compete in the Texas Relays. On March 31-April 1, the remaining Falcons will travel to Cincinnati for the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational.
