Falcons Set For Final Road Matches of Season

Bowling Green goes to Ball State on Friday, Buffalo on Sunday
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green Falcons (6-12, 0-6 MAC) continue conference play with their final road matches of the 2023 season. Bowling Green heads west on Friday, April 14, for a 1 p.m. ET match at Ball State (16-3, 5-1 MAC). After a day off, the Falcons go east for their second match with Buffalo (18-5, 4-2 MAC), set for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, April 16. Live scores for Friday's BGSU-BSU match will be posted HERE. Last Time Out: Falcons Play First Outdoor Match in Nearly Four Years
Bowling Green played one match last weekend, hosting Buffalo on Keefe Courts. This marked the first home match on Keefe Courts since 2019. The Falcons dropped a 5-2 contest to the Bulls, with Ioanna Tsadari and Eloise Saraty picking up wins for the Orange and Brown. Tsadari was dominant at No. 1 singles, taking a 6-3, 6-3 victory to notch her sixth win of the spring. In her career, she has 78 combined wins. Saraty won a three-set thriller at No. 2 singles, bouncing back from a 6-4 loss in the opening set to take the final two, 6-4, 11-9. She has a team-best 12 singles wins and 24 combined wins this year.

Ball State closed the non-conference portion of their schedule with nine consecutive victories, then carried that momentum in MAC play by winning five of their first six. The defending MAC champions are led by Amy Kaplan, who boasts a 15-2 singles record and has won 10 of her last 11. Also winning 10 of the last 11 is Jessica Braun, who was the 2022 MAC Tournament MVP. Maria Polishchuk is 14-1 in singles, with 12 of those coming at No. 1. Buffalo enters the weekend after recording a 5-2 win over the Falcons. Ambre Amat maintains her team lead in singles wins with 21. The Bulls have three doubles duos with nine wins apiece: Azra Deniz Comlek/Deanne Choo, Gabriella Akopyan/Basak Akbas, and Pia Schwarz/Ambre Amat. UB starts the weekend on the road, traveling to Kalamazoo for a Friday (April 14) match with Western Michigan.
