#MACTION
• Thursday marks the start of the Mid-American Conference schedule. The Falcons have enjoyed more than their fair share of success in conference play over the last few years. BGSU finished third in the 12-team league in 2022, but earned multiple titles in each of the previous four seasons.
• Since the start of the 2018 season, the Falcons have a record of 39-7-4 in MAC regular-season matches, good for a winning percentage of .820. BGSU has six more wins than any other team during that span, and all but two other programs have more than double the amount of losses as the Falcons...

SUCCESSFUL AT HOME
• BGSU has a record of 40-10-8 at home since the start of the 2017 season. The Falcons are 31-5-5 against MAC teams at Cochrane Stadium in that time, having outscored the opposition, 80-27, in those 41 matches.
• Since Jimmy Walker took the helm of the Falcons in 2020, BGSU has a record of 15-6-5 inside Cochrane Stadium, including a 12-3-3 ledger vs. MAC opposition.
SUCCESSFUL ON THE ROAD
• The Falcons have a record of 24-6-2 on the road against MAC opponents since the start of the 2017 season. BGSU is 21-3-1 in league road contests since the beginning of 2018, having outscored the opponents, 67-15, in those 25 games. In those 25 matches, BGSU has scored at least two goals 20 times, and at least three goals on 13 occasions.
• BGSU is 18-2-1 in the last 21 MAC road contests, dating to late in the 2018 season.
• Overall, the Falcons are 13-11-2 in true road games over the last three-plus years. No fewer than eight of those 11 road losses have come against opponents from Power 5 conferences, with a ninth coming to a team (Xavier in 2022) that advanced to the second round of the NCAA Championships that season.
PRETTY DARN SUCCESSFUL AGAINST THE MAC, NO MATTER THE SITE
• As noted earlier, the Falcons have enjoyed great success against MAC competition in recent years. BGSU advanced to the MAC Tournament final in 2017 before falling in OT, then won both the regular-season and tourney titles in both 2018 and '19.
• In 2020 (actually 2020-21), the Falcons went 5-1-0 in MAC regular-season action, then defeated Ball State in the MAC Championship to advance to the NCAAs for the third-straight season. Then, in the fall of 2021, BG captured the MAC's regular-season title, then shut out both Buffalo and Kent State in the league tournament to head back to the national tourney yet again.
• Entering Thursday's Toledo match, the Falcons are 21-4-5 in the last 30 games vs. MAC opponents, having outscored the foes by a 62-17 count in that span.
• The Falcons have an overall record of 28-17-9 since Jimmy Walker took the helm, and BGSU is 23-5-5 against MAC teams in that time.
• BGSU has a 69-35-16 overall record since the start of the 2017 season. The Falcons are 45-11-5 in MAC regular-season matches and 55-12-8 in all games vs. MAC foes in that time. Since the beginning of 2018, BG is 56-28-15 overall, 39-7-4 in MAC regular-season action and 47-7-7 in all games vs. league opposition. A handy list follows...

96 PERCENT OF THE TIME, SCORING TWO GOALS WORKS EVERY TIME
(or, THE MORE GOALS, THE MORE BETTER)
• It would stand to reason that scoring goals increases a team's chances of winning. For the Falcons, that is most certainly the case.
• Since the start of the 2017 season, BGSU has a record of 59-1-3 when scoring at least two goals in a match. In that time, the Falcons are 10-34-13 when being held to fewer than two goals.
THE OPPONENT
• Toledo is 3-3-1 on the year, having already topped the win total for all of last season. The Rockets have won three of the last four matches after an 0-2-1 start. UT's wins have come at home against Northwood and Chicago State and on the road vs. Detroit Mercy. The Rockets lead the MAC in scoring, with 2.00 goals per game. Individually, Madison Medalle leads the entire conference in both goals and points, with 14 points on six goals and a pair of assists to date. In goal, Brielle Young has played in six matches, starting the last five. She has 28 saves, two shutouts and a 1.27 GAA. First-year head coach Mark Batman was joined by a total of 19 returnees from the 2022 team that went 2-10-6 overall and 1-6-4 in the MAC.
THE SERIES
• BGSU trails Toledo, 15-10-5, in the all-time series, but the Falcons are undefeated in the last four meetings after the Rockets had won the prior 11 matchups. Last season saw the clubs battle to a 2-2 draw at Cochrane (Sept. 22, 2022). BGSU's last trip to the Glass City resulted in a 3-1 Falcon win on Halloween in 2019. The Falcons are 3-7-4 at home, 7-7-0 on the road (including one match at the Glass Bowl) and 0-1-1 at neutral sites vs. UT through the years.
UP NEXT
• BGSU opens the home portion of the league schedule on Sunday (Sept. 24) against Western Michigan. That match will begin at 1:00 p.m., and it will be Senior Day and Alumnae Day at Cochrane Stadium.
