Falcons Look To Extend Home Winning Streak To Eight Against Kent State Tuesday Night

BGSU Hosting Black Out At The Stroh
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team will look to extend their home winning streak to eight on Tuesday (Jan. 23) as they host the Kent State Golden Flashes. The Falcons and Golden Flashes are set for a 7 p.m. tip inside the Stroh Center. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN+ with a radio stream available through WFRO Eagle 99.Â
Opening Tip
The Falcons and Golden Flashes will be meeting for the 172nd time in program history, the second-longest rivalry in program history. Kent State has won the last eight meetings, but the Falcons hold the all-time advantage with a record of 89-82 in the series. Entering the game, the Falcons boast the second-best defense in the MAC (69.8 points per game) while the Golden Flashes hold the third-best offense (77.8).Â
At The Game
Tuesday's game will be a Black Out at the Stroh Center. Fans are asked to participate by wearing black to the game. The first 500 students will receive a black "Straight Out Ziggyville" shirt.

Kent State enters Tuesday's contest with a 2-4 MAC standing after nearly upsetting rival Akron. The Golden Flashes currently hold the third-highest scoring offense in the MAC, averaging 77.8 points per game. The unit is led by Jalen Sullinger (14.3) and Chris Payton Jr. (14.1). KSU is also tied for the MAC-lead in steals per game, tying Toledo, with a team mark of 7.22. The team has six players with 10 or more steals this year, paced by Giovanni Santiago with 25 and averaging 1.4 per game, tied for fourth in the conference. Additionally, Payton is fourth in the MAC for rebounds per game (8.1).Â
