
Pfoh Nets Overtime Winner Against Mercyhurst to Start the Dennis Williams Era, 2-0

ERIE, Pa. – The Bowling Green Falcons (2-0-0) remain perfect on the young season with a come from behind overtime victory over the Mercyhurst Lakers (0-2-0). One minute and twelve seconds into the extra period, junior Brett Pfoh scored a top shelf game-winner to win the game for BGSU, 5-4. With tonight's win, the Falcons extend their program road wins against the Mercyhurst Lakers to 5-0.
Sophomore Brody Waters scored shortly into the third period to score two goals in as many games. Pfoh opened the scoring for the game at 10:46 in the first period to bring his goal tally to two as well.

The Falcons will be back home against Robert Morris on Oct. 10 for an exhibition game. Puck drop is set for 7:07pm at Slater Family Ice Arena.

- Pfoh opened the scoring for the Falcons at the 10:36 in the first period. After a save from sophomore Cole Moore on the defensive side of the ice. Pfoh ended up on a breakaway down the left-hand side and put the shot through the five-hole of the Mercyhurst goalie to give the Orange and Brown a 1-0 lead.
- At the end of the first and beginning of the second period, the Lakers scored three unanswered to take the lead, 3-1.
- Early in the third period at 2:42, graduate Ville Immonen scored his first goal as a Falcon. After two initial stops by the Mercyhurst goalie, Immonen was on the left-hand side of the net to score the rebound goal to cut into the lead, 3-2.
- A little over three minutes later, 5:18, BGSU scored their second power-play goal of the season from Waters. Senior Ryan O'Hara found Waters in the slot to tie the game at 3 all.
- The Lakers would be able to regain the lead, 4-3, but it would only last for 27 seconds, as graduate captain Ethan Scardina tied the game, 4-4, after Stjernberg's point from the shot was saved and the rebound came out to Scardina in the slot.
- Early into overtime period, the BG tallied two shots off the post early, before Pfoh called game. After cycling the puck through the offensive zone, Pfoh weaved through two defenders before taking a shot that hit the top left-hand corner to win the game, 5-4 in overtime.
