BGSU Men's Hoops To Conclude Road Trip Tuesday Against Central Michigan

BGSU, CMU Scheduled For 7 p.m. Start
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team will wrap up their three-game road trip with the final stop Tuesday (Feb. 20). The Falcons will take on the Central Michigan Chippewas for a 7 p.m. tip. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN+ with a radio stream available through WFRO Eagle 99.Â
Opening Tip
The Falcons and Eagles will be playing for the 88th time in program history and the second time this season. BGSU holds the all-time series advantage, 45-42, but CMU has the edge when hosting, 24-19. The first meeting this season between BGSU and CMU went to double overtime at the Stroh Center with Central Michigan taking a 77-76 final. The matchup will feature two of the top four teams in the MAC standings currently with CMU third and BGSU tied for fourth.Â

Scouting The Chippewas
Central Michigan is paced by the duo of Anthony Pritchard and Brian Taylor on the season. Pritchard leads CMU in points, assists and steals while Taylor tops the stat sheet in rebounds, blocks and minutes. The Chippewas also saw the return of Markus Harding in their last game. In 17 games, Harding is averaging 10.8 points, third on the team behind Pritchard and Taylor, while maintaining a mark of 52.9% from the field.

The matchup between BGSU and CMU will mark the 88th all-time and the second this season. Central Michigan has won the last two meetings and holds a slight advantage when hosting, 24-19, but the all-time standing goes to Bowling Green, 45-42. In the first matchup, the two teams went to double-overtime, BGSU's first double-overtime game since 2016-17. Marcus Hill led the Falcons in the first meeting with 22 points along with seven rebounds and seven assists. Rashaun Agee added a double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds in the contest.

Marcus Hill missed a 20-point game against Central Michigan by one, finishing with 19. The missing point ended his streak of games with 20+ points at nine, spanning from Jan. 13 through Feb. 11. The run of nine straight 20-point games is the longest by any player in the nation this season. The stretch brought Hill's season points total to 536, which ranks 19th in the nation while his 21.4 points per game is ninth.Â
Agee, Hill On Record Book Watch
Both Rashaun Agee and Marcus Hill are nearing the Top 10 in the record book for single-season stats. So far this season, Agee has tallied 233 rebounds for the Falcons and needs 66 more to enter the record book. He needs to reach 299 to break into the Top 10 all-time for rebounds in a single-season, trailing Rex Leach's 1956-57 campaign. As for Hill, he has 536 points this year and needs 600 to enter a three-way tie for ninth all-time, 601 for eighth and 604 for seventh. He is currently 64 points away from the list.Â
Spurgin Eyes 1,000-Point ClubÂ
Jason Spurgin is closing in on reaching 1,000 career points, currently with 946. Spurgin needs just 54 to join the club and is currently averaging 11.0 points per game with six games left in the regular season. With Bowling Green, Spurgin has tallied 274 points this season. Before BGSU, he recorded 672 points over three seasons with Southern Utah.Â
