A Bowling Green Win Would…

Buffalo enters Tuesday's game with two wins on the season and one in conference play. Their first win came on Nov. 15 with an 89-83 victory over Roberts Wesleyan. The Bulls also started their MAC schedule with a win, topping Central Michigan 76-64 on the road. Since then, UB has lost eight straight to fall to 1-8 in the MAC. Buffalo is led by Sy Chatman, averaging 18.1 points per game. Jonnivius Smith has been a force as well, averaging 8.0 points and 8.9 rebounds per game for the Bulls.Â
BGSU v. Buffalo, A HistoryÂ
Buffalo marks the newest MAC opponent for Bowling Green with the series only dating back to 1999 with just 47 meetings all-time. The Falcons dominated the early going of the series, winning the first nine matchups, which still stands as the longest winning streak in the all-time series. Of late, Buffalo has won the last three meetings, swinging the all-time record to their favor at 25-22. However, BGSU still holds the advantage when hosting the Bulls with a record of 14-9.
Hill's 20-Point StreakÂ
Marcus Hill has scored 20+ points in seven straight games for the Falcons, a stretch that goes back to Jan. 13. The streak of seven-straight is tied for the third-longest 20-point streak in the nation this year with Denver's Tommy Bruner, who leads the nation in points per game. Both North Carolina's RJ Davis and Northern Colorado's Saint Thomas have logged eight-straight 20-point games this year, the longest streak in the country. Hill's is the only streak of the bunch currently active.
Agee's Strong Stretch
During the last 14 games, Rashaun Agee has put on a clinic in the paint for the Falcons. In the last 14 games, Agee has tallied 10 double-doubles, moving into a tie for 16th in the nation for the stat. During those double-doubles, he's also recorded three 20-point games as well as the top three rebounding games for BGSU this season. Agee is now one of two players in the MAC, joining Akron's Enrique Freeman, to average a double-double during conference play.
Stealing Games From The CompetitionÂ
During MAC play, the Falcons have tallied the third-most steals in the conference with 65 and are just three behind Akron's league-leading 68. In wins this year, the Falcons average 7.3 steals per game, but in losses that number drops to 5.1. Additionally, during MAC play, Buffalo averages the second-most turnovers per game at 12.8.Â
Working OvertimeÂ
The Falcons went to double overtime with Central Michigan on Saturday (Feb. 3), the first double overtime game for BGSU since the 2016-17 campaign. It was one day shy of the seven-year anniversary, topping Toledo 104-100 on Feb. 4, 2017 in double overtime. The game marked the third time this season that BGSU has gone to overtime, the most overtime games in a season for the Falcons since 2017-18 when they had five games go to overtime.
Getting To The LineÂ
During MAC play, the Falcons have been the best team in the conference when it comes to getting to the free throw line. BGSU has attempted 259 free throws in MAC play, 31 more than the next team on the list. For the season as a whole, it's a similar story with BGSU having attempted 506 free throws, 25 more than the next team. Bowling Green is currently tied for 35th in the nation for free throw attempts per game with 23.0.Â
