Falcons Fall To Huskies In Opening Game Of CCHA Playoffs

HOUGHTON, Mich. - The Bowling Green Falcons (13-21-1, 11-12-1 CCHA) fell to the Michigan Tech Huskies (16-14-6, 12-10-2 CCHA) by a score of 0-5 on Friday night (Mar. 8) in MacInnes Student Ice Arena. The Falcons and Huskies faced each other for the third time this season in the first round of the CCHA playoffs.

Michigan Tech scored five unanswered goals, recording one in the first and two in each the second and third periods. The Huskies outshot the Falcons in each period besides the third (14-12) and was overall 44-21 on the night.

Scoring Plays
- Logan Pietila started the scoring at 8:16 in the first period. Pietila took the puck down into the Falcons' zone, looked to pass it across the net and hit off Moore's pad and into the back of the net for a 1-0 Huskies lead.
- Issac Gordon scored at 9:46 in the second period to extend the Huskies goal by two. Gordon hit a one-timer from the right face-off circle, passing by Moore's right hip.
- Henry Bartle responded soon after at 6:51 in the second period.Bartle picked up the loose puck on the door-step of the Falcons net and was able to shoot it past Moore.Â
- Ryland Mosley scored the first goal of the third at 19:10, right off a face-off. Mosley gained possession of the puck off the face-off and hit it right above the face-off circle, finding its way to the back of the Falcons net.Â
- Arvid Caderoth scored the last goal of the game at 16:01 in the third. Caderoth connected with his teammate in front of the Falcons net, sneaking the puck past Moore for a final 5-0 score.Â

- Cole Moore recorded 39 saves on the night, recording his seventh game with 35 or more saves this season.
