Khayat Competed With Lebanon National Team In 2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifying
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's basketball program and head coach Todd Simon announced the signing of Youssef Khayat on Tuesday (April 16). Khayat, a 6-foot-9 forward, will join the Falcons after spending the last two seasons at Michigan. A native of Beirut, Lebanon, Khayat appeared in 26 games for the Wolverines, including one start, over the last two seasons.
"Youssef is a versatile and skilled player that has significant international experience," said Simon. "His time at Michigan has also helped prepare him to be an impactful player as an upperclassman. Youssef is a great fit for our culture with his work ethic and commitment. We are excited to get to work with him."
During the 2023-24 season, Khayat averaged 5.7 minutes per game, totaling 24 points over the course of the season while logging 97 minutes in 17 games of action. He added 18 rebounds during the season as well. As for the 2022-23 campaign, Khayat appeared in nine games with one start, averaging 6.3 minutes per game while totaling 12 points and six rebounds on the season. During his Michigan career, he scored a career-high six points on the road at Minnesota.
Before arriving in Ann Arbor, Khayat played for Limoges CSP in both the France-ProA U21 and the France First Division League.
