Falcon Tennis Set for Two Matches to Close Out January

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green Falcons continues non-conference competition with a home and away match. The Falcons will host the Holy Cross College Saints for the first time in program history. The match is set to start at 1 p.m. on Friday at Perrysburg Tennis Center in Perrysburg, Ohio. Live stats for Friday's match can be found here. On Sunday afternoon, BGSU will travel to Findlay, Ohio for a 3 p.m. match against the University of Findlay.
Last Time Out
Last weekend, the Orange and Brown beat the University of Indianapolis Greyhounds by a score of 5-2. The Falcons were able to take the doubles point as Qianyu Liu and Konstantina Adamopoulou took home No. 1 doubles, 6-4. Lucia Gaio and Leticia Fonseca won No. 2 doubles, 6-2. Tia Clemens, Qianyu Liu, Konstantina Adamopouloua and Lucia Gaio all won in the No.1-No.4 spots.
Opponent Outlook: Holy Cross College
The Saints will be opening their 2025 spring competitive season on the road against the Falcons. Last time out for the Saints, at the ITA Cup, Victoria Savvides and Leah Gonzales-Edwards made waves after finishing the tournament, ranking them 4th in the nation.

The Falcons lead the series all time with a 1-0 record against the Saints. The two-teams met for the first and only time on Jan, 20, 2023. The last time these teams met, the Falcons shutout the Saints by a score of 7-0 to open the 2023 spring season.
Opponent Outlook: University of Findlay
The Oilers will open their 2025 spring competitive season on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025 against Saginaw Valley State, who the Falcons will face off against later this season. The University of Findlay women's tennis team wrapped up its fall season on Saturday, Oct. 19 with a trip north to the Wayne State Doubles Tournament held in Detroit, Michigan. On Oct. 7, Elina Ivanova was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Athlete of the Week

The first time the Falcons traveled south down I-75 to the University of Findlay was for the Findlay Invitational on Sept. 11-12, 2021. The Falcons, competing against Findlay, Tiffin, and Wayne State, went 13-5 in singles matches and 8-1 in doubles matches. Most recently, BGSU hosted the Oilers on Feb. 13, 2022, in Perrysburg, Ohio and came away with a 6-1 win.
