October 13, 2025 | Football
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Bowling Green State University linebacker Gideon Lampron was named Mid-American Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Week for games played through Oct. 12. It is the first career MAC weekly award for Lampron.
Lampron (Jr., LaGrange, Ohio) delivered a dominant defensive performance in the Falcons' historic 28-23 comeback win over Toledo in the Battle of I-75. Lampron led all players with 13 tackles, including 10 solo stops, and matched a career high with 3.5 tackles for loss. His 13 total tackles and 10 solo tackles were the most in the MAC this week, while both his solo stops and tackles for loss ranked tied for second among all FBS players over the weekend. Anchoring a resilient BGSU defense, Lampron helped the Falcons hold Toledo to just 121 total yards in the second half -- 69 in the third quarter and 52 in the fourth -- while pitching a shutout as Bowling Green erased a 21-0 deficit to earn its first-ever win after trailing by 21 or more points.
Bowling Green returns to action on Saturday when the Falcons host Central Michigan on Family Weekend. Kick is set for 12 p.m. and will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network.
