Falcons Sweep Wildcats on the Road with a 5-2 Win

MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Bowling Green Falcons (14-9-4, CCHA 10-6-4) defeated the Northern Michigan Wildcats (4-23-1, CCHA 3-16-1) by a score of 5-2. In the win, junior Eric Parker scored his first goal of the season. Junior Brett Pfoh finished the game with three assists for his first three point and assists game of the season.
Notables
The Falcons will return home next weekend, Feb. 7-8, for a conference match-up against the St. Thomas Tommies, who are currently sitting in fifth place behind the Falcons in the CCHA standings.

- The Falcons opened the scoring with 13:48 left in the first period. Junior Brett Pfoh collected the puck on the boards near the right circle. Pfoh found junior Jaden Grant near the bottom of the right circle. Grant took a shot that went in five-hole on the Northern Michigan goaltender
- With about five minutes left in the first period. Graduate Seth Fyten passed the puck in the defensive zone to Pfoh. Pfoh carried the puck into the offensive zone before dropping the puck to sophomore Matvei Kabanov. Kabanov deked a NMU defender before beating the NMU goaltender over the blocker side shoulder.
- Five minutes into the second period, BGSU added to the lead with senior Ryan O'Hara's eighth goal of the season. Graduate Tommy Pasanen drove down the slot with the puck. Pasanen passed the puck to Pfoh and he carried it down the left side and found O'Hara on the backside of the net to make it 3-0.
- NMU got back a goal at the 11:52 mark of the second period before four minutes later the Falcons regained the three-goal lead. Graduate Ethan Scardina passed the puck up to junior Eric Parker at the top of the slot. Parker took a slap shot that went into the back of the net.
- With a 6 on 5 situation, Northern Michigan cut into the lead to make it 4-2 at 12:16 in the third period. Scardina would clinch the game for the Falcons with an empty net goal at 19:38 in the third period.
