Falcons Hold Slight Lead on Toledo, Trail Buffalo After First Half of Tri-Meet on Senior Night

FRIDAY RESULTS
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – On a Senior Night spectacle at the Cooper Pool, the BGSU swim & dive team kept it close on Night No. 1 in a MAC tri-meet with Toledo and Buffalo.
The Falcons held a 95-91 advantage over the Rockets and trailed 96-90 against the Bulls. The second half of the meet will take place at Toledo's Student Recreation Center on Saturday, February 1.
Senior Night festivities took place 20 minutes before the start of the meet, as the squad's four seniors – Fabiana D'Ambrogio, Abigail Dolliver, Elayna Krupp and Lily Kaiser – were honored for their contributions to the program over the last four years.
With the pool surroundings decked in Bowling Green orange and white streamers and balloons to celebrate the occasion, Elise Snyder kicked off the meet with a fourth-place finish in the 3-meter diving (266.90).
For the first relay event – the 200 medley – the quartet of Emily McNicol, Ava Vial, Grace Bodrock and Samia Becdach finished runner-up with a time of 1:44.24.
BGSU then took second in four of the next five individual events – Becdach in the 100 freestyle (51.53), McNicol in the 200 backstroke (2:03.79), Grace Perlberg in the 200 breaststroke (2:21.90) and Vial (2:04.56).
Additionally, Taylor Devorace (52.62) and D'Ambrogio (2:05.72) placed third in the 100 freestyle and 200 butterfly, respectively.
Devorace was runner-up in the 200 IM (2:06.21), while McNichols was the top Falcon in the 50 freestyle (24.32), placing third.
The 400 freestyle relay team of Becdach, Krupp, Sierra Newton and McNichols capped off the night with a time of 3:30.34, good for third.

The Falcons will head to Toledo's Student Recreation Center to wrap up the second half of the tri-meet against the Rockets and Bulls. The meet is scheduled to start at 11 a.m.
