Falcon Duo Sees Season-Best Times at Ohio State Winter Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Two BGSU swimmers competed at the Ohio State Winter Invitational over the weekend, swimming season-best marks.
The three-day meet with morning prelims and evening finals each day took place at the spacious McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion, which is one of America's largest indoor aquatic centers.
Sophomore Blanca Sanz and senior Lily Kaiser represented the Falcons individually, competing in the 10-lane pool with the iconic scarlet block "O" looming large on the gray cinder block wall in the background.
On Friday, Sanz placed third in the 500 freestyle with a season-best mark of 5:01.19, while Kaiser took seventh in the 200 IM (2:09.87), which was also her tops this season. Kaiser also competed in the 50 freestyle B final (25.35).
Saturday brought more solid marks for the duo, as Sanz took third in the 200 freestyle (1:53.89), and Kaiser placed sixth in the 100 backstroke (59.10).
On the final day, Sanz swam 11th in the 200 butterfly during prelims (2:13.18), while Kaiser took ninth in the 100 freestyle final (53.58).
