Mayorga Sweeps All Diving Events in Oxford
February 08, 2025 | Women's Swimming & Diving
OXFORD, Ohio -- Natalia Mayorga is proving that she will be a force at this year's MAC Championships in three weeks.
After winning yesterday's 3-meter competition at the Miami Classic, the sophomore took first in the 1-meter and tower (also known as platform) competitions on the second day of competition at the Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center.
Mayorga dominated in the 25-meter diving well. Despite finishing fourth in the prelims for the 1-meter, Mayorga battled back to score a 272.25 in the finals. She also knotted a 234.08 score in the tower event, which takes place 10 meters above the water on a stationary plank that is not often competed but is an NCAA Championships event.
The mark earned her an NCAA Diving Zone Cut, which is believed to be the first tower NCAA zone cut in program history.
Competing against divers from Ball State, Miami (OH) and Cincinnati, Elise Snyder placed third in the 3-meter (256.90) while Claire Werner came in seventh (237.30), which is a lifetime best. Werner also notched runner-up in tower diving (205.43).

The BGSU divers will not compete until the MAC Championships during the last week of February. However, non-MAC Championships swimmers will be in action at the Ohio State Winter Invitational starting on Friday, February 14.
