Bowling Green Hockey Set For CCHA Semifinals at St. Thomas

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green Falcons (18-13-4, CCHA 12-10-4) will travel to Mendota Heights, Minn., to face off against the St. Thomas Tommies (18-13-5, CCHA 13-9-4) with a chance to go to the CCHA Mason Cup Championship game on the line.

The Falcons hold an 8-5-3 record all time against the Tommies. On the road against St. Thomas, the Falcons are 3-2-2 all time. This will mark the fifth meeting of these two teams this season with each team hosting the other once for a series. Additionally, due to the forming of the new CCHA conference and St. Thomas' recent history of becoming a Division 1 team, this will mark the first time these two teams have ever met in the CCHA Mason Cup Quarterfinals.

For his performance in the CCHA Mason Cup Quarterfinal, Stoever was named the CCHA Goaltender of the Week for the second time this season.

For BGSU, this is the first time making it past the quarterfinal round of the playoffs since the 2019-2020 season, which was canceled due to COVID-19. As well, the Falcons last weekend won their first home playoff series since the 2018-19 season which saw BGSU sweep the Michigan Tech Huskies in a best two of three format.
