Men’s Hoops Set To Begin BGSU Tripleheader Saturday, Hosting Eastern Michigan

Falcons, Eagles Scheduled For 1 p.m. Tip At Stroh
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's basketball team will return to action after a seven-day hiatus. The Falcons will host the Eastern Michigan Eagles at the Stroh Center on Saturday (Jan. 17) set for a 1 p.m. tip. The game will be available to stream on ESPN+ while Todd Walker will have the radio call on WFRO Eagle 99.
Opening Tip
Bowling Green and Eastern Michigan will be meeting for the 104th time in program history with the Falcons holding the all-time lead, 58-45. The Falcons are 35-16 when hosting the Eagles and claimed the last meeting with a 65-60 win last year in Ypsilanti. BGSU is coming off a bye within the MAC and will be eight days removed from their last game, which was the final game in a stretch of four games in 11 days against four of the MAC's top five preseason poll teams. Javontae Campbell has played the entirety of the last three games for the Falcons, totaling 125 minutes, 87 points, 22 assists, 18 rebounds and six steals over the three-game stretch.

Campbell On Record-Breaking Pace
Through 17 games, Javontae Campbell is averaging 3.4 steals per game with 57 total. His average is currently leading the nation while his total ranks second in the country. Campbell is currently on pace for 103 steals, which would break not only his own single-season record for the Falcons of 90 last season, but also match the current MAC record, set at 103 by Ball State's Bonzi Wells in 1997-98.

Parking Changes For 2025-26
Additional Limited Mobility Parking Now Available for All Home Basketball Games
To better accommodate fans and guests with limited mobility, additional designated parking spaces will now be available for all upcoming home Men's and Women's Basketball games at the Stroh Center.
Location:
Additional parking will be located on the north side of Lot 24, beginning with the first row of spaces adjacent to the grass area and including the next two rows directly behind it.
Fan Access:
Guests utilizing these spaces should enter through the Student Entrance, located on the north side of Lot 24. From there, fans may use the service elevator to access the main arena and seating areas.
Please Note:
Limited mobility parking will remain paid parking and will be clearly marked with signage indicating the designated spaces and new location.
Scouting The Eagles
Eastern Michigan has had a .500 season so far, being 9-9 on the year and 3-3 in the MAC. In conference play, they've lost to Akron, Ohio and Western Michigan while beating UMass, Ball State and Northern Illinois. They've alternated wins and losses so far, now coming off a 77-59 home win over NIU. EMU is led by redshirt freshman forward Mohammad Habhab, a Central Michigan transfer, averaging 14.2 points, 7.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game, all leading EMU.

Bowling Green and Eastern Michigan will be meeting for the 104th time in program history with BGSU holding the advantage at 58-45. As for games played in Bowling Green, the Falcons are 35-16 against the Eagles. BGSU has tallied a win in 10 of the last 12 meetings with EMU, including a 5-1 record at home during that stretch. As for the most recent meeting, the Falcons claimed a 65-60 win on Feb. 25, 2025. Javontae Campbell finished with 25 points, seven assists, five rebounds and five steals, breaking the BGSU single-season steals record in that game with 83, eventually finishing the year with 90.
Wol Catching Fire
Since entering the starting lineup for the Falcons, Mayar Wol has been a commanding force. Starting the last three games, Wol is averaging 21.7 points per game as a starter and has hit at least three three-pointers in each contest, shooting 50.0-percent (11-for-22) from behind the arc in the three-game stretch. Wol has added an average of 5.0 rebounds per game as well, increasing his season averages to 12.7 points and 2.9 rebounds per game.
Glover On The Glass
Over the last two games, Troy Glover II has found his stride for the Falcons. Glover hauled in eight rebounds against Kent State and nine against Akron, leading the team in the stat for each game, his first two times leading the team solely in the stat. On top of his rebounding, Glover tallied eight points in each game, coming just shy of a double-double both times. So far this year, he has one double-double, logging 10 points and 10 rebounds against Chicago State on Dec. 16.
Campbell Distribution Co.
While Javontae Campbell has been known for his record-breaking steals numbers or his team-leading six 20-point games, he's now adding assists to his resume as well. Campbell has now led BGSU in assists in eight of the last 10 games for the Falcons. During the 10-game stretch, Campbell is averaging 6.1 assists per game, including a season-high nine against both Aquinas (Dec. 7) and Kent State (Jan. 6) while adding eight against UMass (Jan. 3).
Turning The Page
The Falcons are coming off a bye week within their MAC schedule after facing the top five teams from the MAC preseason poll in their first five MAC games. During the stretch, Javontae Campbell played the entire 125 cumulative minutes from the UMass, Kent State and Akron games, not taking in a break in any. Now, the Falcons turn the page with the third-easiest strength of schedule in the MAC for the rest of the season, following current records.
