WXC Notches Ninth Place at Paul Short

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – On Friday morning, the Bowling Green women's cross country team finished ninth in the 6K at the Paul Short Run. In a field of 37 teams and 315 runners, the Falcons scored 278 points, matching their total from last year's meet.
Junior Lexi Panning led BGSU with a 12th-place finish at 20:57.3, 2.1 seconds faster than her time at Paul Short a year ago and more than 24 seconds faster than her showing at the George Dales Invitational. Fellow junior Rachael Hoover followed in 15th (21:06.2), and freshman Talya Schreiber placed 39th (21:33.0). All three finished in the top 40.
Maggie Foust (22:10.1, 100th) and Marissa Boone (22:15.7, 113th) completed Bowling Green's scoring five. Freshmen Lily Good (22:33.1, 143rd) and Morgan Wiechman (22:38.9, 150th) rounded out the top seven for BGSU.
Madison Foster crossed in 22:40.8 (156th), followed by Anna Buddelmeyer (23:08.3, 214th) and Nora Ritting (24:02.7, 265th).
The Falcons placed ahead of 14 other regionally ranked squads, including Monmouth, Charlotte, Brown and Navy.
BGSU returns to action at the Falcon Invitational on Oct.16.
