Fox, Falcons Announce Fall 2026 Schedule

Michigan Matchup Highlights Eight-Match Home Slate
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Bowling Green State University women's soccer coach Chris Fox has announced his team's schedule for the 2026 season. The Falcons will play a 17-match regular-season slate that includes eight contests inside the friendly confines of Cochrane Stadium.
The Falcons' six-game non-conference slate includes a home contest against Michigan on Labor Day weekend. The Wolverines will come to Cochrane on Sunday afternoon, Aug. 30.
In addition to that matchup vs. a Big Ten Conference foe, the Falcons will face opponents from the Big 12 and Southeastern conferences during the pre-Mid-American Conference portion of the schedule. BGSU will hit the road for Sunday-afternoon matchups against Cincinnati (Aug. 23) and Kentucky (Sept. 6). The Wildcats won 12 matches and advanced to the NCAA Championships last season.
The non-conference schedule also includes three matches against Horizon League opponents. BGSU begins the 2025 season against one of those HL foes, facing Robert Morris on Sunday, Aug. 16, at Cochrane. The Falcons will also meet Oakland on the road (Aug. 27) and Detroit Mercy at home (Sept. 10).
The 11-game MAC schedule begins with a home game vs. Eastern Michigan on Thursday, Sept. 17. Massachusetts (Oct. 1), Toledo (Oct. 15), Buffalo (Oct. 24) and Ohio (Nov. 1) also will visit Cochrane Stadium during the conference portion of the schedule.
BGSU's MAC road games include a trip to Kalamazoo to face Western Michigan on Oct. 4, in a rematch of last season's MAC Tournament Final. The Falcons also travel to meet Akron (Sept. 20), Central Michigan (Sept. 26), Ball State (Oct. 10), Kent State (Oct. 18) and Miami (Oct. 29).
The MAC Tournament begins with quarterfinal-round matches on Saturday, Nov. 7, with the semifinals scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 10, and the final slated for Friday, Nov. 13. For the second consecutive season, the entire league tourney will be held at Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus.
The Falcons will play a pair of exhibitions prior to the regular-season opener vs. RMU. BGSU will host Purdue on Wednesday., Aug. 5, before heading to Notre Dame four days later (Aug. 9)

BGSU finished the 2025 season with an overall record of 10-3-9, and the Falcons went 4-1-7 in Mid-American Conference play. BG finished sixth in the 13-team league, then proceeded to advance past third-seeded Buffalo and second-seeded Miami in the MAC Tournament, making it all the way to the championship match. BGSU had just two seniors on the 2025 roster.
