SETTING THE SCENE / FOLLOW THE FALCONS
• The Bowling Green State University men's soccer team starts the month of September by playing three of four matches away from home. That stretch begins with a Friday (Sept. 4) matchup at Xavier University. Head coach Eric Nichols and the Falcons meet the Musketeers in a 7:00 p.m. start at Corcoran Field.
• Then, the Orange and Brown will return home to take on DePaul University the following Friday (Sept. 11). That contest also begins at 7:00 p.m., and admission is free.
TODAY'S PAGE-ONE-WORTHY NOTES
• BGSU's starting lineup on Monday night (Aug. 31) vs. Wake Forest included five freshmen and two sophomores. Through just four matches this year, no fewer than eight different Falcons each have made the first start of their respective collegiate careers.
• The Falcons hold a 6-4-0 lead over Xavier in the all-time series, but the teams have not met in over 20 years. The last BGSU-XU matchup came in September of 2005.
