2010: Started all 42 games for the Falcons … Her 16 extra-base hits ranked second on the team, leading with four triples and adding seven doubles and five home runs … Ranked among the top 10 in the MAC in triples … Had seven multi-hit games including a three-hit and a four-hit performance … Had two multi-RBI games, picking up three in each of those contests … Had a seven-game hit streak that tied for the longest on the team … Went 4-for-5 in a 9-7 win over Akron and 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI in a 5-3 win over Buffalo … Drove in three runs in a 10-5 win over Western Carolina and in a 9-1 win over rival Toledo.
2009: Named to the Academic All-MAC team and the Buzz Classic All-Tournament team . . . led the Falcons with 21 runs scored and second on the team in slugging percentage (.479) and RBIs (14) . . . third on the team in hits (34), including 12 extra base hits, five home runs, five doubles and two triples . . . recorded at least one hit in 25 of the 46 games with seven multiple hit games . . . posted a four game hitting streak that led to eight hits in six games from March 26th to April 4th . . . ended the season recording six hits in the last five games, including two home runs, a double, six RBIs and three runs scored, going 3-for-4 against Central Michigan (May 1) with a homer, three RBIs and one run scored in game two of the double header . . . perfect on the base path going 2-for-2 in steals . . . one of six players to start all 46 games for the Falcons recording 26 put outs and two assists in left field … climbed up the BG record books finishing the season ranked fourth in the career homers (14) and 16th in career slugging percentage (.402).
2008: Played in 37 games making 31 starts in the outfield . . . led the Falcons in sacrifice hits (five) . . . recorded a .202 batting average with 20 hits, including four doubles, one triple, five RBIs, 10 runs scored and two stolen bases . . . had a four game hitting streak during conference play . . . recorded three multiple hit games . . . was a perfect 2-2 on the base path . . . recorded 21 putouts and three assists with only two errors in the outfield improving her fielding percentage from her freshman season (.909) to .923 during her sophomore campaign.
2007: Saw action in 44 contests and started in 43 of those games . . . started 18 of 19 conference games . . . tied for second on the team with nine home runs . . . hit .207 and recorded 25 hits in 121 at-bats . . . had 14 runs and one double . . . fourth on the Brown and Orange with 23 RBIs . . . had a .438 slugging percentage and was sixth on the team with 53 total bases . . . recorded a .909 fielding percentage on the season.
HIGH SCHOOL: Earned four letters at Jefferson High . . . was named captain as a senior . . . broke the Jefferson H.S. record for runs scored, batting average, and walks . . . as a senior, helped the Bears to a 31-6 overall record and a second place Huron League finish . . . the Bears finished second in the Michigan State Tournament in the same season . . . as a senior hit .565, scored 64 runs and stole 42 bases . . . as a junior, helped the Bears to their second Huron League championship in as many seasons . . . hit .495, scored 50 runs and stole 23 bases . . . recorded only one error in both sophomore and junior seasons in the outfield . . . played in the 2006 Michigan High School All-Star Game . . . a unanimous 2006 All-League selection . . . earned first-team all-district, all-region, All-Monroe County and all-state nods in 2006 . . . earned first-team all-league, all-district, all-region and All-Monroe County honors in 2005 and 2004 . . . twice voted one of the Top Five Female Athletes in Monroe County by the Monroe Evening News in 2005-06 . . . also earned three letters in volleyball and two for basketball . . . captain of the volleyball team . . . PERSONAL: Full name is Susan Michelle Sontag . . . daughter of David and Michelle Sontag . . . born Sept. 22, 1987 . . . Architecture major with a 3.740 grade-point average through the fall 2009 semester . . . would like to be an architectural renderer and eventually coach softball . . . has two brothers . . . brother, Ryan, played baseball for Arizona State and was recently drafted by the Chicago Cubs . . . father, David, played baseball at the University of Toledo . . . a member of the FCA . . . played travel fast-pitch for the Michigan Generals.
