Jack McCarthy returned to the BGSU coaching staff in 2026 as an assistant offensive line coach. He previously spent three seasons from 2022-24Â as an offensive quality control coach working with the offensive line.
In 2023 and 2024 he was responsible for weekly opponent film and self-scout breakdowns with the offensive line.
In his first role with BGSU, McCarthy served as an offensive/recruiting assistant, as he assisted in developing weekly self-scout and opposing team reports for the offense and assisting the Director of Player Personnel with recruiting visits.
McCarthy graduated from Hillsdale College in 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in financial management. He played in 26 games over four seasons for the Chargers, starting at center and earning second-team All-G-MAC honors in his last two years. He also earned the team’s Most Valuable Lineman award as a senior. McCarthy played the 2017 season at Bowling Green as a defensive lineman and redshirted.
A Bloomfield Hills, Michigan native, McCarthy graduated from St. Mary’s Prep in Orchard Lake, Michigan in 2017.
