At Henry Ford H.S: Earned three letters, two as a starter, for coach Terry Copacia ... was a part-time starter as a sophomore ... started more at defensive tackle as a junior than tight end, and was a starter both ways as a senior ... had 24 receptions in his career for 300 yards and three scores ... had 50 tackles and four sacks as a senior on the defensive side of the ball ... was an honorable mention all-state pick by both the Detroit News and Detroit Free Press ... served as a team captain ... also earned all-metro honors from the News.
