Marissa Tashenberg was named the academic coordinator for football in the spring of 2017. She was promoted to Assistant Director for Student-Athlete Services in 2021.

Prior to joining BGSU, Marissa worked as an intern at the University of Central Florida where she worked as an assistant academic advisor for men’s basketball, baseball. She also served as the academic advisor for women’s basketball during the spring 2017 term.

Marissa Tashenberg originally joined BGSU Athletics in the fall of 2014 as a graduate assistant in the Student-Athlete Services department serving as the academic advisor for Volleyball, Men’s Golf, Women’s Golf, Softball and assistant academic advisor for Football.

Originally from Maumee, Ohio, Marissa earned a bachelor’s degree in sport management from Eastern Kentucky University after playing four years of Division I volleyball for the Colonels and a master’s degree in sport administration from BGSU. Through her experiences in volleyball, she has worked as an intern for the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) and has coached various teams and camps.
