In his role as an assistant coach and now associate head coach, on top of player development and off-campus recruiting, Noon oversees many important areas of the program, such as game scheduling and the budget. The longest-tenured member of Huger’s coaching staff, Noon has played a key role as the Falcons have experienced historic success.
Over his time at Bowling Green, Noon has played a key role in the development of several BGSU standout players, including Daeqwon Plowden, Justin Turner and Dylan Frye.
Turner became the program’s all-time leading scorer and first player in program history to eclipse 2,000 points, ending his time in the Orange and Brown with 2,077. In 2019-20, Turner averaged 18.8 points and became the first Falcon in 20 years to earn First Team All-MAC honors in back-to-back seasons. Frye capped off a historic career in 2019-20, as he became the program’s all-time leader in three-point field goals with 238. Frye ranks 16th all-time in scoring at BGSU with 1,458 points.
Plowden, who has worked closely with Noon since arriving on campus in the summer of 2017, developed into one of the most impactful players in the conference. Plowden received All-MAC honors for three consecutive seasons and finished his career eighth for career points (1,618), fourth for career rebounds (935) and fourth for career blocks (126). Plowden also became the first player in program history to have at least 1,200 career points, 800 career rebounds and 100 career blocks.
Noon has been part of historic runs in Bowling Green. The 2019-20 season saw BGSU sweep Toledo for the first time since 1999, entering the MAC Tournament as the No. 2 seed before the coronavirus shutdown. The season also marked back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time since the 1947-48 and 1948-49 seasons in the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons. The Falcons in 2018-19 and 2019-20 also won 12-plus MAC games in the regular season in back-to-back campaigns for the first time since the 1998-99 and 1999-2000 seasons.
In 2018-19, Noon and the Falcons experienced one of the best seasons in the history of the program. After the league's preseason poll picked the Falcons to finish last in the MAC, BGSU advanced to the MAC Championship Game for the first time in 17 years and just the fourth time in school history.
Noon came to Bowling Green after one season as the Director of Basketball Operations at Rider University in 2014-15. A 2012 Rider graduate and former member of the Broncs’ basketball team, Noon ventured back to his alma mater after working at both the University of Maryland Baltimore County and the University of Miami.
In his one year at Rider, the Broncs went 21-12 overall to tie the school record for the most wins in a single season. Rider also went 15-5 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play to finish in second-place overall in the regular season standings after being picked to place seventh in the preseason poll. The 15 conference wins were the most ever for the Broncs in their 18 seasons in the MAAC. Noon worked under head coach Kevin Baggett, who was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, and also worked with Zedric Sadler, who was tabbed the MAAC Sixth Man of the Year. Senior Matt Lopez was named to the All-MAAC First Team, while junior Teddy Okereafor was named to the All-MAAC Second Team.
Prior to returning to his alma mater, Noon served as the Director of Basketball Operations at UMBC in 2013-14. There, Noon helped the Retrievers have their finest season in five years. During his time with the Retrievers, Noon assisted in the growth of America East Rookie of the Year and Third Team All-AEC point guard Rodney Elliott. While overseeing the day-to-day administrative operations of the program, Noon also controlled the yearly budget, assisted with scheduling and served as a liaison with both the strength and conditioning and marketing programs.
Upon graduation from Rider in 2012, Noon was a graduate assistant coach with the University of Miami Hurricanes, helping that team experience its most successful season ever as both the ACC Regular Season and Tournament Champions. During the 2012-13 season, the Hurricanes were ranked as high as No. 2 in the country and reached the NCAA Sweet 16 as the No. 2 seed in the East Region. The Hurricanes won a school-record 29 games, which included 15 conference victories. He helped lead Miami to four 20+ point wins over ACC opponents, including a 27-point rout of No. 1 Duke and victories against North Carolina (+26), Florida State (+24) and Boston College (+22).
At Miami, Noon worked under National Coach of the Year Jim Larrañaga and with current BGSU head coach Michael Huger, where his duties included opponent scouting, player development and statistical analysis.
While with the Hurricanes, Noon assisted in the development of ACC Player of the Year, Lute Olson National Player of the Year and Second Team All-America point guard Shane Larkin. Larkin was selected with the 18th overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Dallas Mavericks. Noon also worked with ACC Defensive Player of the Year Durand Scott, Third Team All-ACC performer Kenny Kadji and ACC All-Defensive Team member Julian Gamble. In total seven players from the 2013 Hurricanes squad went on to sign professional contracts.
Noon played collegiately at Rider where he walked on to the team as a senior after serving as a team manager for three seasons. Following his senior year, in which he posted the highest GPA in the MAAC, Noon was awarded the Richard H. Bubacz Award for leadership, sportsmanship, and scholarship. He graduated Manga Cum Laude from Rider in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in English writing.
Noon is a graduate of Cherry Hill (NJ) High School West, where he won the South Jersey “Unsung hero” Award, serving three years as team captain in basketball while also captaining the varsity baseball and soccer teams.
Noon earned his Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from BGSU in the summer of 2018. He also was on the Board of Directors for Rising Coaches Elite Organization.
