For The First Time In Over 75 Years
The Falcons began the season in historic fashion, tallying 10 wins before the holiday break. The win total marked just the fourth time in program history with double-digit wins before Christmas and the first time in over 75 years. The only other times the mark was hit was each season during a three-year stretch under BGSU Hall of Famer Harold Anderson. Anderson tallied 10+ wins before Christmas in 1947-48, 1946-47 and 1945-46 with the Falcons. Each of those seasons also reached 11 wins before New Year's, another milestone this year's Falcons have within reach with one game left in 2025.Â
Scouting The RedHawks
Miami (OH) enters as one of the hottest teams in the nation, boasting a 13-0 record on the season and one of just six remaining unbeatens in the nation. The strong start has earned the RedHawks votes in the AP Top 25 poll as well as a spot inside CollegeInsider.com's Mid-Major top five. Miami has built their season on efficiency, leading the nation in field goal percentage, shooting a 54.6-percent clip from the field. However, the RedHawks lost a key piece in their MAC opener with junior guard, and minutes per game leader, Evan Ipsaro exiting with an injury. Ipsaro has not appeared in a game since and had previously been named to the Lou Henson Award Early Season Watch List. Â
BGSU vs. Miami (OH), All-Time
The Falcons and RedHawks will be meeting for the 154th time in program history with the series leaning to Miami, 92-61. However, the Falcons hold the advantage when hosting the series with a record of 40-33. The last win for Bowling Green in the series came on Jan. 16, 2024 while the last home win for the Falcons over the RedHawks was an 83-73 victory on Jan. 21, 2023.Â
Breaking The 100-Point Mark
Bowling Green has already tallied three 100-point games this season, tied for the second most in program history for a single year with the 2021-22, 1996-97 and 1974-75 seasons. The record is held at five by the 1963-64 campaign. This year, however, the Falcons have surpassed 120 points three times. In program history, Bowling Green has now had seven games with 120+ points, nearly doubling the total just this season after entering with four.Â
Campbell Leads Nation
Javontae Campbell added six more steals for the Falcons against Siena Heights, bringing his total to 48. Through 13 games, Campbell is averaging a nation-leading 3.7 steals per game while his 48 total are first as well. Campbell is currently on pace for 114 steals, which would shatter not only his own single-season record for the Falcons of 90 last season, but also the MAC record, set at 103 by Ball State's Bonzi Wells in 1997-98. For those looking to follow Campbell's projections, Falcon Sports Media Network's Tyler Kavalecz is doing a game-by-game update on his Twitter/X page (@TKavaleczSports).Â
Double-Digit ScoringÂ
Against Siena Heights, Makhi Leach tallied a season-high 15 points for the Falcons, his first double-digit scoring game of the season. With Leach joining the list, BGSU has now had 11 of the team's 15 players to see the court this season reach double-digit points at least once. Javontae Campbell and Sam Towns lead the way with nine double-digit outings each this season.Â
Dominating Defense
The Falcons have established themselves as one of the MAC's premier defensive teams this year, ranking inside the conference's top three for all defensive stats. BGSU leads the way in steals per game (13.0), turnover margin (7.6), scoring defense (64.4) and field goal percentage allowed (40.2) while being second in three-point percentage allowed (30.9) and third in blocks per game (3.5).Â

- Grant Bowling Green a win in their MAC home opener for the first time since 2023-24.
- Push the Falcons to a 2-0 MAC start for the first time since the 2022-23 season.
