BGSU Women Earn FAR Award For Top GPA In The MAC
Back in September of 2014, the Mid-American Conference announced that Bowling Green earned the league's Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) Academic Achievement Award for women's sports for the fourth time in the seven-year history of the award. The honor recognizes the program in the MAC whose female student-athletes show the best academic achievement in the conference. BGSU won the award in both 2008-09 and 2009-10 to be the only program to ever win it in back-to-back years. The Falcons also earned the honor in 2011-12 and then again last year. The 11 women's sports which contribute to the FAR Award are basketball, cross country, golf, gymnastics, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis, indoor track and field, outdoor track and field, and volleyball.
