Mark Miller came to BGSU after an outstanding career in football, basketball, and baseball at Canton South where he was a two-sport captain. He took over the starting quarterback duties in his second game as a freshman. He led the Falcons to an 8-3 record as a sophomore, completing 52% of his passes. That season saw Miller finish 13th in the nation in total offense. He was named BGSU's MVP and led the MAC in passing. He was named an All-American by the Football News and Argosy Magazine.
Miller was drafted by the Cleveland Browns, backing up Brian Sipe for the 1978-79 season. He played for the Green Bay Packers before signing with the Michigan Panthers of the United States Football League. After Miller was done playing professionally, he went back to BGSU to coach for seven seasons.
Mark Miller was inducted into the BGSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 1983.
