BGSU Tuning Up For MAC Championships

THIS WEEK: With the Mid-American Conference Championships (Oct. 30) drawing ever closer, the Bowling Green State University cross country teams will split up this weekend. The BGSU men will travel to the Queen City for Friday's (Oct. 15) Cincinnati Invitational, which begins at 3:30 p.m. The following day (Oct. 16), the Falcon women head to Bloomington, Ind., for the Pre-NCAA Meet, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Bloomington is the site of the NCAA Championships, scheduled for Nov. 22.
The Pre-NCAA Meet marks the final race before the MAC meet for the women's team of coach Cami Wells. Sterling Martin's men will have one more race, the Eastern Michigan Open (Oct. 23), before the league meet.
LAST WEEKEND: The BGSU teams travelled to Delaware, Ohio, for the All Ohio Championships Friday (Oct. 8). The Falcon women finished ninth of 40 teams, while the BGSU men were 10th of 38 squads in the race, which features colleges and universities from the state of Ohio.
The women were led for the third-straight meet by junior Christine Thompson, who placed 20th in the 267-woman race. Nikki Monroe was 28th overall, while freshman Cyndi Bostdorff placed 43rd.
The men were paced by Dave Larson, who was 39th of 256 runners. Kreg Hatfield was 45th, while Dan Flaute finished 59th overall.
