Falcon Women's Basketball Schedule Is Set
December 28, 1999 | Women's Basketball
Sept. 24, 1999
The Bowling Green State University women's basketball schedule is set for 1999-2000, following revisions by the Mid-American Conference office. The Falcons of second-year head coach Dee Knoblauch are scheduled to play a total of 10 home regular-season contests at Anderson Arena this winter.
BGSU's 1999-2000 slate begins with a pair of home exhibition games, on Nov. 1 and 14, respectively. The Falcons will open the season on the road against Youngstown State Nov. 20, then return home to face St. Bonaventure two days later. BGSU also hosts Washington State during the non-league portion of the schedule, with that game set for Dec. 20.
The Falcons will play eight of the 10 non-conference games away from home, including tournaments at Montana State and Virginia Tech and single road games at Xavier, Ohio State and Detroit, in addition to YSU.
BG dives into the MAC schedule by hosting Kent, the defending East Division champions, Jan. 2 at 1:00 p.m. That contest, as well as the Feb. 19 home game vs. Miami, will be the first half of a BGSU women's-men's basketball doubleheader.
The Falcons will play two games against every East Division team except Marshall. BG will play home-and-home series with Akron, Buffalo, KSU, Miami and Ohio, but just a single game against the Thundering Herd. The Falcons will play one game against each West Division squad, with the exception of Ball State. The Brown and Orange will host Eastern Michigan, Northern Illinois and Western Michigan, while playing on the road against Central Michigan and Toledo. BGSU and BSU are not scheduled to meet during the 1999-2000 regular season.
The complete schedule follows. To purchase tickets, fans can call the BGSU Athletic Ticket Office at (419) 372-0000 or toll free at 1-800-BGSUTICKET (1-800-247-8842).
