Falcons Prepare For Miami Classic

UP NEXT: The Bowling Green State University women's tennis team is now idle from competition for several weeks. The Falcons will not compete again until the Miami Classic in Oxford, Ohio, on Oct. 9-10. Following that tournament, head coach Penny Dean's Falcons will head to Bloomington, Ind., for the Indiana Invite Oct. 15-17.
REMAINING 1999 FALL SCHEDULE:October 9-10 at Miami Classic (Oxford, Ohio) 15-17 at Indiana Invite (Bloomington, Ind.) 22-24 at Fall MAC Indoor Meet (Kalamazoo, Mich.)
November 3-4 at ITA Rolex Regionals Qualifier (Columbus, Ohio) 5-8 at ITA Rolex Regionals (Columbus, Ohio)
LAST WEEK: The Falcons opened the 1999-2000 campaign by hosting the BGSU Invitational at Keefe Courts last weekend (Sept. 18-19). Other participating teams included Detroit, Eastern Kentucky, Illinois at Chicago, Toledo and Xavier. Team scores were not kept, but the Falcons captured three singles flight titles and two doubles crowns.
In singles action, juniors Abby Bratton and Tracy Howitt captured flight titles at the third and fourth levels, respectively. Senior Beth Wilson won the singles crown at the sixth flight.
In doubles, the team of Bratton and sophomore Devon Bissinger won the crown at the second flight, while the tandem of Wilson and senior Kelly Dredge captured a title at the third flight.
