Falcons Capture Six Titles At Keefe Invite

UP NEXT: The Bowling Green State University men's tennis team, following a successful performance at the BGSU/Keefe Invitational, next competes on Oct. 15-17, when the Falcons head to the Kentucky Invitational in Lexington, Ky.
LAST WEEK: The Falcons of head coach Jay Harris opened the home portion of the season with the BGSU/Keefe Invitational last weekend (Oct. 1-3). Team scores were not kept at the tournament, which included Dayton, Eastern Kentucky, Eastern Michigan, Ferris State, Wright State, Xavier, Youngstown State and the Falcons.
Individually, four Falcons captured singles titles, including freshman Micael Lopez-Acevedo, sophomore Ed Kuresman, junior Ben Ashford and senior Sonny Huynh. The doubles teams of Huynh/Ashford and Mike Kossoff/Nicolas Lopez-Acevedo captured crowns as well.
In addition to the four singles winners, BGSU had five second-place finishers and a third-place finisher. The BGSU doubles teams, in addition to the two flight champions, had a pair of second-place results and one fourth-place finish.
BGSU singles competitors combined for a 24-6 record, while the Falcons doubles teams went 11-3 at the Keefe Invitational.
