January 03, 2000 | Men's Tennis
Nov. 8, 1999
UP NEXT: The Bowling Green State University men's tennis team has concluded the fall portion of the 1999-2000 schedule. The Falcons of coach Jay Harris are idle from competition until Jan. 21, 2000, when BGSU will host Sinclair. That match is scheduled to be played at Shadow Valley in Toledo.
LAST WEEK: Three members of the Falcon squad competed at the ITA Region IV Meet (Nov. 5-8) in Madison, Wis. Freshman Nicolas Lopez-Acevedo and sophomore Vitek Wild competed in singles, while junior Brandon Gabel teamed with Wild in doubles.
Both Wild and Lopez-Acevedo lost their initial singles matches. After winning the first set against Ohio State's Andrew Carlson, Wild lost the second set in a tiebreaker before dropping the third set. Lopez-Acevedo fell to Eastern Michigan's Jason Yue. The Gabel/Wild duo defeated a Western Michigan squad before losing to a Minnesota duo seeded sixth in the tourney.
The complete results of last weekend's action can be found under the "results" section of the BGSU men's tennis web site.
