BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University women's cross country program has signed a student-athlete to a National Letter of Intent, BGSU women's cross country coach Cami Wells has announced. Nicole Suitor will join the Falcon program next fall.
Suitor, a native of Freeland, Mich., currently is in her senior year at Freeland High School. Suitor was an all-state honoree in all four years of her high-school career. In track, she posted a runner-up finish in the 3,200 meters at the state meet as a junior last spring. Additionally, Suitor has been a two-time state medalist as part of the FHS 3,200-meter relay team. In the classroom, she has been a three-time academic all-state selection to date.
"I look forward to having Nicole join our team next year," said Wells. "I was impressed by Nicole's maturity and commitment to her athletic and academic pursuits. I believe she has the ability and determination to be a significant factor as a member of our cross country and track teams next year."
The Falcons will head to Ypsilanti, Mich., for Saturday's (Nov. 11) NCAA Great Lakes Regional Cross Country meet. The races will be held at the Eagle Crest Golf Club, with the women's meet starting at 11:00 a.m. and the men's race scheduled for a noon start.
