Bowling Green, Ohio - Luke Maher scored 24 points off the bench and Kevin Sams added 20 points and 12 rebounds to lead Pella Windows to a 94-85 victory over Bowling Green, Saturday night. The contest was the Falcons final exhibition game before beginning the regular season at home, November 21 against Evansville.
The Iowa-based squad knocked home eight three-point shots and had 10-second chance points in the second half, to hold off the Falcons. The visitors led 45-37 at halftime and led by as many as 17, 77-60, with 7:38 to go.
The Falcons cut the lead to 83-77 with 3:36 to go but could get no closer. Juniors Len Matela and Keith McLeod each scored 22 points to lead BGSU, while Brandon Pardon had 14 points and eight assists.
Pella outshot the Falcons 50 percent to 48.4 and won the battle of the boards, 42-33.
