Badenhop recorded a 5-1 mark with a 1.56 earned-run average for the Perrysburg Acme squad Yellow Jackets this summer. In 45 innings, he struck out 55 batters and walked 17. As a junior last spring, the 6-5, 180-pound hurler compiled a 2-4 mark for the Yellow Jackets with a 4.06 ERA. He had 28 strikeouts in 29.1 innings for coach Dave Hall. Burke's father Dalynn was a three-year (1971-72-73) letterwinner in basketball at BGSU.
Hundley is the younger brother of former BGSU pitcher Jeff Hundley. Matt, a 5-11, 175-pound right-handed batter, hit .500 last year for Howland High School, while compiling a mound mark of 5-2 with a 1.76 ERA. He struck out 63 batters in 44.2 innings with 12 walks to earn first team all-league honors for coach Chuck Potashnik. He played this past summer for coach Rod Simmer and the BB Rooners.
Severhof, a 6-1, 195-pound left-hand hitting shortstop/second baseman, was named first team All-Wood County in 2000 as a shortstop after hitting .548 (40-73), with three home runs and 14 stolen bases. The leadoff hitter for coach Greg Wilker and the Lake Flyers had a .691 on-base percentage including 35 walks and only 11 strikeouts. He also had a 2-1 record with one save and a 4.31 ERA as a pitcher. As a sophomore in 1999, he batted .560 (42-75) to earn first team All-Wood County accolades as a designated hitter. Severhof had two home runs and 21 stolen bases. He also plays linebacker and offensive line for the Flyer football team. He played this past summer for the Pemberville Legion team coached by Don Schmeltz.
The Falcons compiled a 29-24-1 mark in 2000 for their sixth winning campaign in the last seven years. Seniors on the 2001 roster include right fielder Lee Morrison, first baseman/left-handed pitcher Chad Curlis, third baseman Scott Dukate, right-handed pitchers Craig Menke and Brian Thacker, and center fielder Aric Christman. BG opens the 2001 season with a three-game series at Eastern Kentucky on Mar. 3-4.
