LINCOLN, Neb. - The Bowling Green women's tennis team broke a brief, two-match losing streak with a 7-2 win over the University of Wyoming Saturday morning (Feb. 19). The neutral-site match was held at the Woods Tennis Center in Lincoln, Neb.
The Falcons captured all three doubles matches, with the team of juniors Abby Bratton and Erika Wasilewski emerging victorious at the top flight. BGSU's other teams consisted of senior Deidee Bissinger and junior Meghan Rhodes at the second level, and sophomore Devon Bissinger and senior Beth Wilson at the third flight.
In singles action, Bratton and Wasilewski lost at the top-two flights, but BGSU's remaining four singles competitors captured victories. Rhodes won at the third flight, while Deidee Bissinger captured a three-set decision at the fourth level.
At the fifth flight, Devon Bissinger defeated her Cowgirl foe, while junior Tracy Howitt posted a straight-sets win at the sixth level.
BGSU, now 5-2, is idle until a March 4 dual at Cincinnati. UW dropped to 2-4 on the season.
